I lost a permanent tooth. Can tooth replacements help?

Yes. If you’ve lost one (or multiple) permanent teeth, tooth replacements provide an effective and affordable way to rehabilitate your smile.

At Club Atlantis Dental, the team uses tooth-colored replacements whenever possible. These restorations blend in with your surrounding teeth and don’t contain metal amalgam or mercury. What’s more, they’re made from durable materials, like ceramic and porcelain, and can withstand general wear-and-tear.

Are there different types of tooth replacements?

The Club Atlantis Dental team offers a variety of tooth replacement options, including:

Bridges

A dental bridge replaces a single permanent tooth. Specifically, it fills a gap in your smile where one of your teeth used to be.

There are several types of dental bridges, but they all have a similar design featuring an artificial tooth with two crowns or a metal framework. The artificial tooth fills your empty tooth socket and the crowns or metal framework prevent the bridge from shifting.

Dentures

Dentures are removable oral appliances used to replace some or all of your natural teeth. Club Atlantis Dental offers three types of dentures –– partial, complete, and implant-retained dentures.

Partial dentures replace a few of your teeth, while complete dentures replace an entire dental arch. Implant-retained dentures look like complete dentures. The difference is they attach to dental implants instead of resting on your gums.

Dental implants

Dental implants replace your tooth roots. Your Club Atlantis Dental provider inserts the implants into your empty tooth sockets and they integrate with your jaw or alveolar bone. The implants provide a base for crowns, bridges, or implant-retained dentures.

Crowns

A crown doesn’t replace a tooth. Instead, it restores a broken or severely decaying tooth to its near-original size and position. Club Atlantis Dental offers tooth-colored crowns made of porcelain and ceramic.

The team might recommend a single tooth replacement (or several) depending on your oral health and goals.

How long do tooth replacements last?

Tooth replacements last 10-15 years on average*, but they often last longer with good oral hygiene. The Club Atlantis Dental team recommends brushing your teeth twice daily, flossing regularly, and visiting the office for routine dental checkups to keep your tooth replacements in optimal condition.
